Hyper and Hypo pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation occurs in the unflattering forms of dark spots, discolouration and uneven skin. Sun is not the only culprit to blame. Blame it on the hormonal changes, improper cleansing, over-cleansing, lack of moisture, harsh treatment products and even wrong product application methods.

Hypo and Hyper pigmentation

Hypo-pigmentation is when there is ligher area relative to your skin's relative colour. If you are very fair-skinned, it may be difficult to detect a hypo-pigmented area as it is only slightly lighter than the skin's normal colour. If you are fair-skinned, it is easier to see a dark spot.

Hyperpigmentation means an increase in the skin's normal pigmentation in a particular area. It does not refer to any particular skin colour.
