7 Makeup Mistakes To Avoid
1. Too much makeup
Makeup is meant to enhance features and look natural, so don't overdose on the following:
- Eyeliner ~ Too dark or too thick eyeliner make you look overdone.
- Mascara ~ Too much of it looks fake and will flake as well.
- Foundation ~ Foundation is best on the same shade as your skin. It is meant to even your complexion and give your face a smooth look. There is nothing more unantural looking than a too-light or too-dark foundation. Therefore, always blend, blend and blend.
- Power ~ Not too much of it, blend thoroughly.
2. Unnatural Lips Apply lip liner to completely cover the lips, add color and your lipstick will stay on much longer. But do make sure your lip liner doesn't show. Lip color should match your skin tone. If you have a cool skintone, wear cool colors. As for warm skin tone, warm colors are suitable. 3. Inappropriate Makeup Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach, you shouldn't wear the same/much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Dayligh makeup should be lighter than when you are going out for the evening. 4. Too Little or No Makeup Some ladies don't wear makeup because they are not sure how to use it and are afraid of being overdone. If that is the case, start with the makeup bascis then gradually add one product at a time. If you are the type of categories that you will not used to wearing makeup, start a little at a time. A little is better than none. 5. Overall Clash When your makeup is completed it should look natural. That means avoiding colours that clash. If you have dark skin and hair you will look better in darker shades; light colours will make you look washed out. If your hair and skin tone are light, light colours will look better on you. Dark makeup will make you look older and harsh. If you have oily skin, first use oil control moisturizer and foundation. Then be sure to wear loose powder, keeping pressed powder with you for touch ups. 6. Mismatched Hair Color Your hair color should also be in harmony with your skin. If you have dark hair and you want to add color, keep it close to the same shade. If you have light hair, use light colors. As you age your skin will lighten, so should your hair color. One last thing about hair color: if you do color you hair be sure you keep it up, don't let your roots show. 7. Faded Makeup Keep makeup looking fresh all day by doing regular touch ups. Don't let your makeup fade or crease. Also if you have an oily T-zone, keep a handy pack of facial oil blotters in your bag to keep shine at bay.
