Skins

Dry Skin

It occurs when the skin does not have enough oil. Skin will become drier with age. It requires a lot of moisture and a greater capacity to absorb water. To do this, there's a constant need to rebuild and support the skin moisture properties. Skin gets dry usually because of too much exposure to the sun, sea, air, wind and pollutants. Using improper skin care like soap to clean the face or not protecting the skin with moisturiser, will complicate this mistake as well.

Skin is: Tightly drawn, flaky, rough dull and small pores.

Oily Skin

Is prone to acne, imples, baclheads and white heads. Due to increase of sebum. People with oily skin usually complain of greasy and shiny skin. Oily skin types tend to have more noticeable scars. But because oily skin retains moisture well, you will have less wrinkles as you get older. Contrary to popular belief, oily skin does not cause breakouts. Stress and lack of sleep are the more likely culprits.

Skin appears: Tightly drawn, shiny in the T-Zone (across forehead, down the nose and chin) and thicker, firmer and less sensitive than other types. With enlarged pores and recurring blackheads.

Normal Skin

Normal skin is defined as skin that is not too oily or dry. But in actual fact, very few people have such skin. It's more common to have combination skin. Normal skin has stable levels of the skin's natural oil.

Skin is: Neither porcelain fine, nor coarse or thick. A little dry on cheeks, slightly shiny on T-Zone in the late afternoon. Few blemishes and occasional pimples or blackheads.

Combination Skin

Has varying levels of sebum. It means that certain areas of the face will either be dry or oily. The T-zone is usally the oiliest part o the face while the cheeks are drier. This skin type is the most common.

Skin is: Oily on the T-Zone in the afternoon, dry on the cheeks, dull and prone to breakouts in the T-Zone.
